Day Cruises versus Overnight Cruises
Day Casino Cruises
Most casino cruises are available during
daytime hours throughout the week and weekends. Day cruises
generally last four or five hours. One hour of that time is
generally spent sailing to international waters. At this time,
you have two to three hours to gamble legally before the ship
begins sailing back into the state’s waters.
Day cruises make for nice, short, relaxing evenings. When the
ship is sailing, you should be able to have dinner and buy drinks
as you visit with other passengers. The time spent sailing generally
depends upon the location of the casino cruise. Those that begin
further from international waters will have, of course, longer
sailing times.
One advantage of taking a day casino cruise is that you have
a limited amount of time available for gambling. For those who
may have a very competitive and thus, very spendthrift sprit,
a day cruise may allow you to spend time at the casino without
spending your paycheck. In addition, boarding a day casino cruise
is often free.
Overnight Casino Cruises
Overnight casino cruises generally occur on larger cruise lines
that have a variety of entertainment options, one of which is
the casino. Because of the vast number of activities, these cruises
can be fun for a variety of people. Generally, the casino will
be open all day and all night.
One concern when taking an overnight cruise with a casino may
be that there is an unlimited amount of time in which you can
gamble. With all this free time, some people end up running up
all of their credit cards while repeatedly losing. If you have
that type of money, you are fine, but for the rest of us, we
will need to have someone with us to help keep us in check. The
other entertainment options may help you to keep your spending
in check as you can go and watch a great show on another part
of the ship.
One drawback of overnight cruises is that they can be very expensive
whereas most day cruises do not charge a boarding fee. However,
spending time with friends and family in the casino, in shows,
and at cruise dinners can be a delightful and rewarding experience. |
